Urban Arts Festival A Success

Weather could not have been any better for this years Urban Arts Festival. Located at Firemans Park in downtown Tacoma hippies, goths, rockers, drunks, kids, grandmas, and even stilt walkers converged. It was an event that truly brought together people who care and love Tacoma. The stages this year looked amazing, I thought the greenery worked really well. Next year I would like to see more local food establishments taking part though. Sure the taste of Tacoma was the same weekend but the quality of the carnival food that is offered at the Taste is terrible. Great job everyone who helped make this festival a success.

Last night Can-U & Reign were at it again. Holding a show over at UWT’s Longshoremans Hall around 30 people showed up to show support for local hiphop and local artists. When they say all ages they are really serious…there were babies running around! Overall it was a great event and it was good seeing lots of familiar faces.

Last Thursday Jazzbones held a show for hiphop artists, Can-U, D Black, and Macklemore. Even though the turn out was not as large as I was anticipating for such a great lineup it was an amazing show and it’s good to hear Jazzbones plans on holding more shows of other genres then just blues. For those of you who didn’t get to make it out as promised here are some videos

Can-U & DJ Reign Tonight At Hells Kitchen

Come out to Hells Kitchen tonight on 6th Ave in Tacoma to check out my friends Can-U & DJ Reign. Doors open at 6pm. Everyone that comes will recieve a free copy of Can-U & DJ Reign’s new mixtape ‘Hear This’. You might even see FICE get on stage and do a new song off of his upcoming album.
I caught Can-U at Showcase Tacoma last year and was really impressed, I then saw him at a Kulture Lab Party. He really is a nice guy and I’ll be there tonight, I’ll try and take some pics/video for anyone that can’t make it.
