Free Local Hiphop Music Sampler – The Taste of Tacoma
Many people are unfamiliar with all of the local hiphop talent we have here in Tacoma. In January I set out with the help of BlakFace Music to put together a free digital download sampler of some of the best MCs and Producers in the area. What you are going to hear through out this sampler is nothing but love for Tacoma and a huge sense of pride these individuals have for Tacoma.
People constantly compare our local hiphop music to whats on the radio. Do yourself a favor and give this sampler a try and who knows maybe you will become a fan.
Enjoy!

Checking it out…
In the future, it would be nice if the mp3s had track number in the metadata so it’s easy to listen to in playlist order. I’m assuming some thought went into that order…

Hey Jamie, great comment. At first I did indeed have the track number on there, I later removed it because I like the idea of listeners getting into it randomly. Seemed to make it fair
Thanks!

Depends on what you want to do. If your only goal is to intoduce people to the songs, then it doesn’t really matter. If you want to make a truly bitchin’ mix, then order is key.
(I for one went in and tagged everything into the order that they appear on the page)

I have not yet checked out the mix(our IT Dept is great at blocking access to stuff), but I just think Tacoma hip hop is headed in the right direction when something like this is put out. I’m an artist myself, and I was wondering how to get on Volume 2, if there is one.
