Tacoma Hiphop Rally Tomorrow at Pantages @ Noon

There has been some loose organization of a protest/rally tomorrow at the Pantages theater at noon. March 10, 2008.
This is what was posted by the promoters:
The city of tacoma would like you to believe they are for diversity and growth, but we call their bluff! They welcomed a rap show in december. They wanted the new and fresh to share in the performing arts community. Rottweiler rented the building hired e40 , tickets went on sale, Kube started advertising, then the TPD stepped in. To insure the safety of the night we agreed to hire additional security including 19 tacoma police officers, 20 staff pro employees, and the numerous broadway center staff. (for an event that holds only 1100 people) then they gave us three days to pay all of these people. And when we give them there money and jump through their hoops, they then decided to scare the community. They want to blame e40 but they couldn’t prove any violence at his concerts, so they want to blame the local artists and their fan base. They would like people to believe that if you throw up your neighborhood or hang in a certain part of town, or try to put a certain event on you are condoning gang activity. They are using your myspace posts and comments for their arguments. They claim the Rottweiler crew and e40 will bring violence and riots downtown that night. So its time to join together to show the communities and hip hop events don’t constitute gang violence. We are speaking out and would like your feelings on the subject. rottweiler is a family and community based organization. that support all the performing arts of all kinds!
Organization then started happening online and plans to rally in protest started popping up.

TRUE hip hop culture does not glorify guns or violence. The record companies have pimped an entire generation. They’re in bondage and don’t even know it. Google Rottweiler Records Tacoma to get a flavor of the family based positive vibe they promote.
I agree Ive heard great things about Rottweiler Records
The Broadway Center will host a community dialogue to challenge assumptions about Hip Hop and discuss ways in which Hip Hop music can be presented in a safe and positive manner: A Hip-Hop Community Dialogue on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 3 pm in Theatre on the Square.
This dialogue is a free event and will be open to the public. Mediator and University of Puget Sound Professor, Dexter Gordon will facilitate the dialogue with intentions of maintaining an environment where all voices and opinions will be spoken and heard. Broadway Center encourages dialogue participants to attend with an open mind and willingness to listen and learn.
we dont need a dialogue to come to obvious conclusion that this venue will bring violence. and we dont need a leftist professor to skew the outcome.
