Suzanne Skaar at Commencement Bay Coffeehouse this October

Suzanne Skaar’s work will be exhibited at the Commencement Bay Coffeehouse for the month of October. She is one of the cofounders of the Tacoma women’s art group which organized the successful 2006 EyeFull and 2007 Midsummer Soiree art events. She has shown her work in Tacoma venues such as Panamonica’s, Club Zoe, the Kickstand Cafe, and Olympia’s Midnight Sun and the Capitol Theater.
She graduated from The Evergreen State College- Olympia in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Eastern European Studies and Print Media. Her work is influenced by her years living abroad in Europe and Asia.

Ive seen some of her work at Kulture Lab Ive always thought the doughboy riding the vespa was cute
I believe the technical name for him is “creepy moped guy”. At least that’s what Suzanne used to call him.
The only one I knew who ever thought it was creepy had a seriously scary addicition to country bears and potpourri. Ugh… shiver.
